               My Professional Life

I am an EFL Teacher living in Argentina, the country where I graduated in 1970. I  worked at the Asociacion Rosarina de Cultura Inglesa, a private Institute with 2,500 students of English, the only University of Cambridge Exam Centre in Rosario, second city in Argentina, since 1970 up to 2010

I have been teaching English to kids, adolescents and adults at elementary, intermediate and advanced levels.

In 1980 I was promoted to Area Manager for Kids and Advanced classes.

I am Cambridge Oral Examiner for Kids --Starters and Movers--, as well as for First Certifícate and CAE students, and prepare students to sit for those international examinations.

In 1994 I organized and set up the Self Access Centre in our Institute, as well as a Language Laboratory, which caters for intermediate and advanced students in the Institute.

Having travelled to Cambridge, England, in August 1999, for a course on “The Use of Computers for Language Learning”, by Gavin Dudeney and Gary Motteram, I started doing research on the field, and thus travelled to Barcelona for an ESADE/IATEFL Computer SIG joint event, in July 2000, called “CALL for the 21st Century.”

As from then on, I attended different courses and participated in online and f2f seminars and conferences, both as an attendee ans as a presenter, after joining Webheads in Action, the online Community of Practice aimed at the exploration of Internet Tools for their integration into Language Learning, in 2002.

I opened up the Multimedia Centre in our Institute in 1999, and prepared both materials and teachers to start using the computer as a teaching tool, both as a source of information and as a means of communication.

Having won a scholarship to present at TESOL in Seattle (USA) in 2006, I started attending TESOL Conferences and was selected a member of the Steering Committee 2009-2012.

I became a Google Certified Teacher after a course in New York (USA), which allowed me to be  part of a knowledgeable group of educators exploring Google Applications for their integration into Language Learning.

I am currently a CALL Consultant and Presenter, having joined Jennifer Verschoor for a team venture at  TechTools4Educators, an online nook where we aim at collecting all the joint work we do online: presentations, f2f workshops and webinars, which we offer to educators all across our country.
